Believe it or not, we have friends. Maybe because we link to their websites. It certainly isn't our looks or charm. It even more certainly isn't our wallets.
There's art in Greenwood, South Carolina? Yup. There are a few places that feature local artists, including the Carleton Gallery (ooh, fancy!). They concentrate their collections on young, hip artists with young, hip art. Which is neat, because that means mostly our young, hip friends. Many of the artists featured at Carleton are working on cards for Post-A, which is totally rad. Carleton also features, by the way, a few pieces of Jarrett's (he's one of the founders of Post-A). Hopefully we'll be able to convince Carleton to feature some of the Post-A cards as local art.
These Go To Eleven - A website of amusing top ten lists from some of our friends/Post-A contributers. Go, read, enjoy, and participate. We both do.
We're nerds. We love to play Manhunt. We've got a regular game going during the warm months, and we call it the GANG League. We made a website, called Night Games. We've got the rules for different night game/manhunt variations on there, which is useful to you (if you're lame like us). Use it as a resource for getting your own games together, or even send us ideas for games that you guys run around and play at night. Rock on, right?
I've got this friend who's ancestors are from Poland, see? And he hikes, see? So I'm helping him put together a blog about hiking (mostly in the Southeastern US, which is some of the best hiking you'll ever see). So he's a Pole, right? And he hikes, right? He's the Hiking Pole. Get it? It means two things.
Creative Self-Loathing is a collaborative web-development group, run (sort of) by Bill. Some of his dumb musings are probably on there, but mostly it's just a place where we announce some of our projects and such. Post-Apocalypse is a project of Creative Self-Loathing (which basically means that Bill administers the site and pays for hosting out of his slush fund).
Randy Pace Photography - A good friend of ours for many years and a hellova photographer. It's definitely worth a look. He was going to do my photography when I was considering running for Congress. Don't ask.
You know what I don't much like? Art that only works in traditional mediums. That's why we're involved with CoolKid Shirts. It's nothing right now, but in the relative-near it will, hopefully, be the coolest shirt company in the world. We're going to do limited-run shirts designed by our artist friends, mostly local. And we're gonna sell 'em cheap. And we're gonna tell you up front how much shipping costs. Because we're not (total) douchebags. Hand-pressed, baby, right here in South Carolina. We just need to make us some start-up capital. That may be a problem.
Sometimes you just need a little encouragement to go fuck up the system. Thus, one of my amigos created Perpetrate Change. Check it out, it's just quotes from famous people about how you should go change shit around in your world.
Looking for all kinds of crazy nonsense? Go read (once it exists) Elegant Doom. Just don't believe a single word on that stupid site. It's a Creative Self-Loathing project, which means that the creators can't be trusted.
